university of cincinnati's pre-physical therapy club

I used to go to organization fairs and think "I could never stand here and try to get people to join this". I used to walk across campus and think "Why are they out here selling cookies again". I never thought I would be one of those people. Planning to attend organization fairs, bake sale after bake sale, multiple events, multiple outreach opportunities, review sessions, and volunteer outings. That all became my life when I signed up to be a part of The University of Cincinnati's FIRST Pre-Physical Therapy Club. I have to say I was so hesitant to apply for an executive board position. I thought, no one knows me, why would they let me be vice president? Well, a week or so after submitting my application I was informed that I was the first Vice President of the club. I was so excited to get to work because I knew this club had so much potential. It was something I knew would benefit all of the pre-pt students on campus. The fall semester was the first semester that our club was able to hold events, and hit the ground running. I have an AMAZING executive board, and recently just put together a Jr. executive board! This club has been a safe space for me to vocalize my opinions, ideas, and creativity freely. With help from my executive board, I have been able to make several ideas come to life.

I learned how to plan and organize events from start to finish. Some events I took the lead on include our first big event which was, Field Day. Later on during the spring semester, our big event was the Health Sciences Career Fair. I played a big part in organizing planning and hosting these big events with the help of my exec board.
At the beginning of the year, I saw a need for supplemental instruction for the Musculoskeletal Anatomy course. This course is essential for all health science majors. I decided to form review sessions to help students prepare for big practicals. I later had the idea to take it a step further and create an honors experience out of it. Stay tuned! :)
