Junior Year Monthly Dump

AUGUST

SEPTEMBER

OCTOBER PT1

August was an odd month. I went home for a few weeks because I was so homesick. It felt great. I was ready to move back to Cincinnati, not just for school but just in general. August was filled with joy spending time with my family, moving back to Clifton, seeing my Cincinnati friends, and getting back into my groove. I was excited to start classes, get back involved, and get my junior year started.

In September I started my new job as a pharmacy technician. I was super excited because I was working with Ariel (my best friend). I drove two hours to see my brother Keisean play in his first football game (it rained, hard, and I was not prepared. hints the bonnet in public). September was busy because I had my first big exam, and I was stressed. I spent most of my time at the health sciences building which I grew to love. It became my happy place. Although I was often stressed in that building.

Now let me tell you! October was a time, every single week I had a great time. I was so happy. The first week of October was UC’s homecoming weekend!! It was so much fun. I spent time with my friends at the cookouts, the game, and of course DJ Onetake’s big party. The second week I went home and visited my family which was a well-needed break.

NOVEMBER

DECEMBER PT1

In the third week, my friends from Akron came to celebrate their birthday, so I showed them the city. The fourth week was Halloween!! I decided to be a cheerleader for Halloween, which was nostalgic for me. I cheered in high school and all the memories from high school came. It felt good to be in the uniform again.

November was straight grind time. it was only a few weeks before finals, and I just wanted to finish the semester strong. I spent pretty much the whole month at Health Sciences. I was working a lot, working out a lot, and studying the MOST. I was just ready to get finals out the way so I started prepping early. I knew that winter break was around the corner and that was the motivation I needed. Times like this are the most critical, its like trying to keep speed at the last few meters of your race. That's when you're suppose to go faster, you know? I guess that is how I seen it.

December did not go as planned. If you notice in the top left I have a hospital bracelet on… December 4th I unfortunately got into a car accident as I was leaving work, I left the accident with a concussion (#5). This changed A LOT. I wasn’t able to finish finals due to the injuries and went home sooner than planned. My family drove to Cincinnati within minutes of finding out and my brother never left my side.

JANUARY

FEBRUARY

I went home and was pretty much on bed rest. I couldn’t do much but go to physical therapy, and sleep. I couldn’t sit through my brother's band concert (it was loud) but I did see him after. Of course, once I was up moving more I made a vision board to start my new year off right. Since I was home I started to get back to enhanZing and I began the expansion of my company!! Not to mention… I bought my first car from a dealership (I accomplished one of my huge goals).

I went back to Cincinnati for the start of school. I was obsessed and I mean OBSESSED with Green District. I got my nose pierced impulsively after a long day at Kroger Pharmacy. I also started testing our new hair for the expansion of my company. It felt good to be back on campus, even though it was freezing. I was excited to get the spring semester started. I started my new position at the learning commons and although I was nervous, the support I had from my staff was amazing.

February was a good month. It flew by, to be honest, I don’t remember much. But I do know that I dyed my hair red impulsively, held my first review session of the spring semester for MSA, and visited my family. I realized on the trip back home that my brother is taller than me, which makes me sad. I was excited for spring break to come, but it started to really hit me that the semester was close to ending.

MAY PT1

MAY PT2

Again this month flew by, I was excited for spring break because I missed my family, although I had just seen them. At the beginning of the month, I decided to take pharmacy seriously and get certified so I began studying for my certification exam. I passed my retail exam with a 90% which made me more excited to get nationally certified. I also changed my hair and got braids. Which I took out in ten days. I didn’t like them. I had a great time on spring break. I went to TopGolf for the first time (I lost but nonetheless a great experience).

All I could think about was finishing the semester strong. I started to plan for next year since reality set in. It clicked that in a year or so I would be getting ready to graduate.  I was homesick and exhausted from school, and work. I was drained if I’m being honest. Oh yeah I also impulsively booked a flight to Atlanta.

I took my certification exam for pharmacy at the beginning of the month I passed with an 87%. After that it was steady. I watched my cousin show out at her probate, celebrated my bestie's 21st birthday, presented in my first Undergraduate Scholarly Showcase. After that I moved all my stuff, and came home.

I finished the semester with all A’s. when I saw the final grades I almost cried. this entire year tested my discipline, motivation, and confidence. the hard work, late nights, 5 am mornings, and 16-hour days all paid off. I felt good ending my junior year the way I did. But I was more than READY to start the summer.

I added May here to give an update on myself a month after the semester has ended. I began easing my way back into working out, continuing to listen to my body and not over do it. I even brought my brother along with me. I started applying for jobs since I was going to be in a different city I needed to find a temporary position. I got an interview from CVS pharmacy and got the job on the spot.

On May 14th I celebrated my 21st birthday! I want to say a special thank you to everyone who celebrated with me, and wished me a happy birthday. I went to one of my favorite resturants, had amazing food and spent time with my friends and family.

MAY PT3

A day after my birthday I went to Atlanta. My favorite city. I spent a week or so down there and spent time with the best people, ate the best food, and enjoyed my time. As much as I miss the late nights, study sessions, and liveliness of Clifton. I am really happy to get a break and relax before the fall semester starts.
